I just happened to walk by my tank and saw one of my female guppies dropping fry. She has dropped three so far and I them all! :hyper: I am so excited! LOL! Could it be possible that she is the one who had some last night? Or was it probably a different female?

I put her in the breeder net when after I caught the first fry that she dropped. She didn't seem too stressed out about it. I wasn't sure if I should do it or not, but I didn't want the other fry to get eaten! She seems much calmer now that the other fish can't bother her.

Anyway, I'm off to see if she has more. I tried to get a picture, but since she's in the net, they haven't turned out so great. :/

Congrats on the new babies. I'm learning about guppy breeding but I just wanted to say congratulations and good luck :D

I took her out because I thought she was finished dropping. When I came home, I found three more fry in the tank! I thought she was still having babies . . . but NO!!! It was another female dropping fry. She dropped five that I was able to save . . . how many got eaten before I came to the rescue, I have no idea.

It was one of the females with what I thought had a naturally dark gravid spot (one I just got on Monday). Now that she has had her fry, her gravid spot isn't as dark anymore. That means that the others I thought had naturally dark gravid spots are probably pregnant and will be dropping fry soon. The funny thing is, the one that just dropped her fry didn't even seem that fat! :/ I never thought she was pregnant!

I am so excited . . . still! LOL

Well, I'm finished rescuing fry for the night. I have a total of 14 from two (maybe three) females. The last female that had fry looks skiny, so I'm pretty sure she's finished dropping. I'm not sure about the first one or any of the others, they all look fat compared to the one that just dropped her fry. :/ So maybe when I wake up in the morning, I'll have more fry in my tank. I'll rescue what I can, but I'm being taken over by fry! :hyper: I still love it though!

I guess I wasn't counting too well last night cause today I count 15. They are hard to count though as they move so fast. :)
