I Planted My Tanks!!!! ^_^

I've been thinking about going with live plants for a while now, I just never had the motivation...until I found out my lfs had a sale on plants today...any plant, only $2! So yeah, I jumped on the oppourtunity and picked me some up. Hopefully this time I can keep them alive.

First off, this is the Cabomba. I just threw this one in my Livebearer tank to see how it does. I think it's rather pretty...kinda gotta purplish look to it under my light.

Now for an actual tank...this is my improved 10 Gallon! Yay! The big plant on the far left is still plastic, mainly for filler because it looked stupid with only two plants in there.

This the Milfoil that is right in the middle...

And this is the Amazon Sword on the far right, with a few of my Yucatan Mollies.

And then I planted my 29 Gallon!!! I was so excited to finally get this one planted. I have better lighting, but I haven't switched bulbs yet...I'm lazy. Also the big plant on the far left is plastic and the three hanging ones are as well, for fillers till these ones take root.

This is the Milfoil in front of the rock pile...I just love this stuff.

One of the Ludwigia, the one right up front. I have a second one in there as well, but it's toward the back and kind of hard to take a picture of.

Lookin' good, Arashi! I just *love* live plants in tanks! My fish like 'em too...they like to hide in 'em and sit on 'em and nibble food off 'em. I just got more new plants for my tank last night. Since I got a paycheck today, I'm thinking of getting some more plants and/or fish soon Anyway, back to your tanks...how are your fish liking the plants? They're looking great. If you get more plants, I'd recommend some Hygrophilia polysperma - it grows fast and is a nice little plant. Vallisneria are nice plants, too. The Corkscrew variety grows very quickly, too. Two dollars a plant - nice! (Well, at least for the more expensive plants!)

Thanks lizard! I too love planted tanks...I'm glad I decided to try it again. I can't wait till the plants fill out...that is, if I can keep them alive.

So far the fish are liking them a lot. The Clown Loaches are extremely curious about them, and my Gouramis are loving the taste of the Milfoil, lol!

Hygrophilia polysperma looks like a nice little plant. I may have to look into getting some. I do love the look of Corkscrew Vallisneria, so I will probably get some of that as well...I just have to order it. Anyone know of any really good online order places for plants? I also really want some Micro Swords for fry hiding places.

$2 a plant is actually pretty good around here. Most plants will run you at least twice that, sometimes getting up to $12 just for a Sword. Yeah...people overprice around here...but I guess if people pay it...
