Haha! Just "as a present" and because I am his (darling? Maybe not.) daughter after all, my dad bought me 4 more harlequins for my tank today! How nice of him! :D

So now I really should be nice back. That may be harder

Anyone else had any fishy presents? :)

Ah, very nice of your dad!

Nope, my parents will have nothing to do with my fish...lol... besides my mom feeding them when I am away for college.

lol  My dad has his own tank and I have mine so he's pretty into the hobby - my mum isn't interested at all in it though! She's happy to sit and watch them but that's about it!

my girlfriend hsa been super generous with my hobby. around 16 months ago she bought me my 453 litre tank with filters heaters lights the lot. since ive had the tank she has also bought me a green severum a golden nugget plec and around half a dozen corys. spoilt or what ! :hey:

Just tell your dad you love him. As a dad myself and with a 6 year old girl, that moves mountains and 'fills my bucket'. Congratulations on the new additions. SH

Wish you were my daughter.... easy to please with 4 Harlequins??... My "darling daughter" (no doubts because she's my only daughter)... will start being "nice back" at the cost of a refrigerator or auto washing machine...

Edit:... Oh!!!.. & btw.... It is her Birthday today! 31yr old Vet and not a boyfriend on the horizon... I'm gonna die with no grandchildren...

Haha! I'm an only child too but I'm easy pleased :p Be patient Ludwig - us girls are pretty fussy and if there aren't any guys who are 100%, we just wait for a better specimen

Harlequins have settled in well and have coloured up nicely btw

She's not an only child, but, my only daughter.... She parties a lot with a little Lawyer,... Who I personally think is gay,... so!!!! no potential for any grandchild from that side.... My son, however.... is currently pregnant (due in July) with some spider that has moved in with him.... Do I want to call that my grandchild???.

wow, i never realised my parents were so nice. i always go to the fish shop with my birthday/christmas money, and come out with £20-£30 of stuff that my dad has paid for. :p

I don't think my dad has boughten me fish since, well, I don't know, Probably 3 - 4 years.

I like that word and would like your permission to adopt it, (since you've invented it) "Boughten".... has a nice ring to it!.... never heard it before, but I know what it stands for!

My dad thinks that most of my male friends are gay even though I know they deffinately aren't! So you never know... A spider? What?!! Confuzzled :D

Yeh good word actually - must try and rememeber that for use in my higher English essay

Nice dad! Oh, and here I am thinking I am the only person who likes to use the word "Confuzzled"!!!

When I set up my first tank, my mom told me that my dad was going to give me $50 when we went to Petco to pick up plants, decor, ect. But what happened was he told me "Whatever you need, put it in the cart, and I'll pay for it" I was baffled. And when mymom takes my grandma out with us, I always ask to stop by the LFS just to take a look around, and my grandma is ALWAYS asking "Is there anything you need? Ohh... Do you want that?"

Ludwig, I officially give you permission to use the "boughten" whenever and however you want, as long as you use it for good, and promise to never abuse it, and are willing to pay the 12 dollar royalty on it. Just kidding. Sure, why not?

Technically, it is a word:
