There's a pond near my house, with frogs, bullfrogs, newts, a turtle, mosquito fish, etc. It's a pretty big pond , but not a lake. A year (maybe more) ago, I saw this little goldfish swimming around, looking completely unnatural in the muddy pond. Of course, I didn't do anything about it then. But now I have seen it again, and it is almost a foot long. Big enough to eat tadpoles, fish, frog and new t eggs, and probably lots of other stuff.
I want to catch him, but have no idea how. I don't see him very often, so a net doesn't work to well. How should I do it?

Ummm... you could try a basic funnel fish trap maybe? Where they swim in but can't figure out how to get out. I saw it on a survival show once.

What do you plan to do with him once caught? Is it a natural pond that he was dumped in? Are you worried about the indigenous species? Just wondering :)

You could try either sitting and waiting by the shore with a cast net, or getting on a boat and use the cast net by just dropping it on it, or just a normal net.

A cast net sounds like a good idea. If you're really worried about the native species, and are committed to catching the goldfish, get a team together to try and fish him out. Waders, cast nets, dip nets, the whole 9 yards. I did this one time for a HUGE red tail catfish that was released into a small pond, it was around 1 acre or so. We got around 5 other people to help out, and we made a day of it. We eventually got the red tail catfish out, and he's living in a pond at a friends house.
