I need some betta-friend support

I am not a rash person, believe me, so I'm not going to jump all over him. I paid for express which he quarentees. He lives in MI and I live in CA, United States. He emailed me to say that they wouldn't arrive overnight because of where I live (out in the boonies). They were shipped on monday and arrived today. His policy doesn't say that if it doesn't arrive the next day, he wont quarentee it which is a good sign. His name on Aquabid is Megaman. He had all positive comments. In my opinion, they should have had more water. THe other fish I got had at least 3/4 water and 1/4 air. These fish had 1/4 water and 3/4 air. Maybe that was the problem. :( Now I am waiting for him to email me back.


Just to clarify, I ordered a female which shipped priority from Connecticut on monday and also arrived today. THey were alive. And they had the 3/4 water 1/4 air.

If express, he should refund or send another batch for you. Yes, bad packaging is really bad. The more room, the better. Usually 1/3 water, 2/3 air. They all need to learn. Keep email this seller and he or she should be reponsible. They even have to put label as "LIVE TROPICAL FISH" BIG just like me. LOL :lol:
My post office already know me well. Today a new postman guy said, oh! live fish again. LOL Oh yeah. Even him also know me. LOL They all know I always sending live betta so they all already get use to me and they do take good care especially in Topeka, Kansas. Be nice to the people and they will be always be nice to you. :) I always greeting them and they always say back to me. :)
 
The guy emailed me back. He seems very reasonable. He said that's the first batch that's ever arrived dead. He said he would either refund my money (excluding shipping). Or send me a whole new batch of a higher quality copper marble plakat and pay for half of the shipping. What do you guys think I should do!!?? If I pay the $12.50 for the shipping and they die again, I am out $46.50. Errrr, such a hard decision.
 
I go ahead and pay him but you have to makesure he pack good this time 1/3 water and 2/3 air and put a label like me. "LIVE TROPICAL FISH" in a bigger box!:) Actually that is a very good reasonable price. Go for it. :)
 
Well, if I were you I'd go for the fish... surely it was just a fluke that they died if he has such positive feedback, right? Tell him to write "avoid extreme temperatures" and "fragile" all over their box.

I am so sorry about what happened.

It sounds like the guy is really trying to make it up to you. I would go for the new fish. IF nothing else, so that you don't get "order shy" I have the feeling if you don't get them you might never order through the mail again, and you would be missing out.

Of course, if you get the new fish and they are dead, you are certainly justified in never ordering again. :blink:

My Boyfriend just offered to pay the bit for shipping the next set of bettas. How lovely is that? I know, I almost want to order just so I dont get mail order sour. I'm leaning toward going ahead and re-shipping the bettas. Hopefully it will all go through. THere was fragile and Live Tropical Fish written all over the box. And this side up. I will tell him about the 1/3--2/3 rule though. Thank you guys for your support. :)
