1) Do my xenia look dead? They keep shrinking.

2) What is that small round yellow looking thing upper right from the xenias? Is that the brain coral?

3) On my live rock, yellow gooey looking thing is spreading which is actually hard not soft. It looks kind of nice. What exactly is that?

Sorry for the boring video. I have to get more live rocks to fill up the tank better.

Ok, nice video but difficult to tell what some of the things you are asking about - although I could see some nice little sponges growing. Your Xenia certainly is very withdrawn so:

How long has the tank been set up - I would guess it is a fairly new tank?
What are your water stats?
How many power heads do you have and what is the rate of turnover?
How long have the fish been in?
What else is in the tank?
Lighting?

Ok, enough questions from me :good:

Does your xenia extend out at all??? How long have they been in your tank, xenia don't travel well and they just might be adapting to their new home,
they don't look dead, yet, if you have had them for a while, have you tried moving them, they just look very unhappy to me, more light/flow may help them come out more.

Not sure about rest but could they be mushrooms

Sorry as seffie says its hard to tell from video, can you take some stills and post them, it might make it easier :good:

Yes this is a fairly new setup. Current residents are blue hippo tang, bi-color angel, 2 tomato clown and 2 yellow clown gobies. Here are the details:

55gallon long (48"L x 13"W x 19"H)
2 fluorescent lights(25 watt ea)-will be upgrading to T5 lights
55lbs of live rock
50lbs of live argonite sand
2 AquaClear 70 powerfilter (300gph ea)
1 powerhead (200gph)
1 Ebo-Jager 250watt heater

Salinity: 1.024
Temp: 75
PH: 8.4
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate 5-10

Ah, not enough light or flow for most corals, even Xenia. I'd upgrade these or move the xenia up in the rockwork quick. One other possibility, is the Angel nipping at them?

The yellow stuff are all forms of sponges or tunicates, very common ;)

Another thing, that tank isnt going to be big enough to keep that tang very happy for long. I would re-home him.
