Still dangerous as a lot of shops cure lots of rock from different compartments in the same water system. They may have just dumped some uncured rock in there, but the rest of the "old" rock had enough bacterial colonies to remove the dieoff. And it's even possible for a shop you know and trust to make this mistake and sell you uncured rocks that they just forgot about
