The Chapalichthys peraticus, Chapalichtys pardalis and Ameca splendens have some similarities.

The Xiphophorus variatus la Laguna is one of the more better looking wild platies there is. I've just moved mine over to another tank where they have more space.

variatus la Laguna was collected and brought back to the UK maybe as far back as 2002 I remember visiting one of the collectors and buying some from him he still had some of the wild stock they were stunning the best platy I have ever seen

That's what we also think that these two Chapalichthys species are probably the same species.
I've got the Xiphophorus variatus La Laguna line, collected by MacAllister in 2000.

yes Dave did collect them, his favourite species of fish are Xiphophorus he also collected many types of brachyrhaphis,
it seems brachyrhaphis roseni is the only one available these days,

Most Brachyrhaphis species are aggressive fish. I've used to keep the B.roswithae but they just cut other fish in half. Currently, only keeping the B.roseni of all Brachyrhaphis species. But this species isn't that friendly either. Therefore, they're in a species tank.
