I’ll look again, but I think one of the 4.5 inch earth eaters I put in with the bichir, and silver dollars is missing, that is the only tank I have, that is covered, as the bichirs have been known to be aerial acrobats.. the acrylic tank has a top, and all the openings are covered… lots of good plastic plants, and live Java fern in there, but if it’s really missing, the only explanation, is a 14 inch bichir, ate a 4.5 inch earth eater… if that’s what happened, must have been a battle… the earth eaters have a history of being brawlers, so maybe the 2nd one is hiding in a corner somewhere, so I’ll have to look again for sure

Eartheaters will bicker among themselves, but are easily dominated and shy in tanks where other fish are bigger. I doubt there would be a battle - just an ambush and probably a little creation of bite sized pieces.

It's funny how we think. Eartheaters as food fish bother me, but I accept goldfish in that role. I hope he's not being digested, because if he is, his buddy is next. Those would be high quality feeders.

2nd earth eater, is not there… bichir is becoming a beast… I watched it stalking the other one, when I fed them… I think the silver dollars that are left, are too tall visually ( it ate some of the others, when I 1st started putting them in) but current silvers are adults now… except the spotted, which I was growing out, before it got displaced by one of the other earth eaters but it is taller visually than the remaining earth eater… better quality feeder fish I guess, the bichir is going to get twice the size it is now, and it’s already eating 4.5 inch fish…
