He's about 2 inches long, and will stay in my 120 litre tank until I get my new 460 gallon one next month and cycle it.... ^_^

He's so unusual... I've seen quite a few LFS's stocking Peter's Elephant nose, but i've never seen one like this before.... the head is so much smoother that it matches the elephant's own head shape along with it's trunk... it really is a beautiful looking fish.... he almost reminds me of a mini-dolphin.... the LFS owner said a lot of people had been commenting the same thing....

Apparently, if I look around hard enough, I can find Albino, Marbled and the normal black type Peter's elephant's, along with the Albino, Marbled and normal black variety of the double-trunk.... hmm.... That's quite a few types.... Let's hope I find at least a few for my bigger tank when it arrives :D

Please forgive the current lack of photo... I have no Digital camera, but I will be getting a half-decent one with a new mobile phone which I hope to use for some sort of OK picture...

Anyone else have any of the other varieties, or any I don't know about that I need to check out?

deffo need a picture....sounds like a urm...freak!!

oh and if i had a 460gallon tank i would do a lil more than elephant nose fish with it!!....are you sure u mean 460 gallon? thats 1 huge tank.

You're right - I meant to type litres as I did for the other tank...

That's 460 litres! (about 100 UK gallons...)

It's been a long day!

congrats on your find, we definitely need a pic though! are you going to get any more? aren't elephant noses supposed to do better in groups, or am i mistaken?

ok, just checked...keep single or in groups of three or more to dispurse any aggression. they always seemed like a fun fish to have, i hope you enjoy yours!

The LFS advised to get either one on his own, or at least a group of 4 - which sounds about right by what you've said....

I'd love 4, but it would be a bit of a squeeze putting another 3 into my 120 litre with my current mix of cory's/plec's! (26 UK gallons)

Once Mr 100 gallon arrives, it will be a different story :D

_fish_a_holic_ seems to have the same fish as me.... this pic he posted is the same fish as mine, only the one in the pic is much more metallic and silver.... my Mr Flipper is much more grey and monotone, which is more reason he looks like a Dolphin!

I'll get a photo together soon :D
