Well yesterday I popped into a lfs I had recently heard of, but didnt know they were there! they've been open for 20 yrs apparently
anyway, hiding at the back of a small tank were 3 skunk corys, they seem fully grown size wise I think. Anyway, I am so chuffed to have found these guys as Skunk corys are not found too often here

anyway here is a picture of them, I am not sure if one is definately a female and the other two are males, as one of them is a bit tubby around the middle.sorry if the picture is fuzzy.

They are beautiful! Ive never seen them around my town.

Very nice looking indeed, I have not seen some of these for a while.

I have RARELY seen skunk cory's for sale in Australia, but would love to get some.... along with about a dozen other types  , the best way I have found to sex even young cory's (before the females get full of eggs) is via thier fin shape. The males will have much narrower pelvic fins while the females will have broarder more paddle shaped pelvic fins in order for them to collect the eggs when breeding prior to plastering them all over plants and glass.

Come to think of it, I haven't seen them for sale as often as I used to see them. Here's a picture that has both mature males and females. Their figures are quite different when viewed from above. I never did get them to spawn.

Hi LilyRose Tank :)

I think so too, but I'm not entirely positive.

Aww you're so lucky! I have been searching for these and can only find wild ones for sale on eBay! They look great!

Yes, those are the ones you want. They are rarely bred in captivity. :)
Really? I didn't realise that. Are they very difficult to get to breed in captivity then?

That makes me feel better about buying wild caught then, I didn't want to buy wild if I could get tank bred ones.

Very nice jayne :good:

Tad expensive though,i got mine for £5 each, still nice cories.:)

On my adolfi thread , £30 for 3 http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?/topic/374977-new-adolfi-corys/
