My photograph was used without my permission, and *oh so cleverly* with my name and copyright removed.

Here is your article:
Betta Basics

And here is my tank photo, uploaded to a site I've been on for years:
Lisa Williams' Tanks

It's great that you feel that my tank is good to show beginners how to do it properly. But I am not impressed with what you have done; it's illegal. So you have two choices. You can either remove the photo entirely, or you can post the original, without your editing, so that proper credit is given, like you did for the betta pics on that same page.

Next time, ask. I would have been happy for you to use it so long as the copyright was not infringed.

I would have contacted someone directly, but I didn't know who to contact, and I would like people to know whose tank that is.

Funnily enough, this is from your own board rules, that we all must agree to when we register:
You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or by this bulletin board.

Hi lisa, I'm not sure how this could have happened and will look into it for you, I agree it is totally out of order that something like this has happened and I too would be annoyed.

I will edit the page to give recognition, the newsletter is run by a group of members on the site, and in the rush to meet the deadline I guess this may have been overlooked.
Thanks,will

Hi Lisa,

I am sincerely sorry for the miss-use of your photo, I am solely responsible for placing it with our Newsletter.

However, I did try and find out the owner of this beautiful tank and picture when I found it on Google as I have done with other pictures used. When I found your picture there was no copyright or name edited at the bottom.

Please forgive our rush to get this first newsletter out, and let us know whether you'd prefer the real version [with your copyright protection] placed in the newsletter or the complete removal of your photo altogether.

Sorry for the negligance in my part, and beautiful tank by the way.

Regards,

Paul.

Thank you; that is acceptable.

As for finding the pic without my name on it, that's quite unusual. It is possible someone else has done an edit of the picture, because as you can see, it's been there for quite some time.

At any rate, thank you for clearing this matter up.
