The other day, on my birthday we went to the lfs where I work cos my sister wanted a new fish tank. Now, while we were there I was browsing the tanks to see what fish we had in. Lo and behold, half hidden behind a buckt on the fish tanks, was a beautiful siamese fighter (betta). He was gold but his fins had brilliant blue streaking through them and his body shimmered gold and blue and green when he moved. Big, healthy looking fish. Now, there is a colleague I really dont get on with. I told him I wanted this fish and he didnt say a word to me, got a bag, bagged it up and then proceeded to handle the bag VERY roughly, didnt get a paper bag to keep it dark, and all he said through the transaction was "thats the right fish?" and dumped the fish on the till and stalked off.
Can anyone guess what all that stress did to my lovely siamese fighter?

even if we dont get on, thats no reason to kill my fish. the fish died saturday night and I checked the water and that was fine. he was only in with a neon and 2 rasboras! so i maintain that the stress killed my beautiful betta. RIP, Cobra Bubbles.
