My gerbils have had babies!!!!!!!!!!!! I saw them last night night for the first time and then this morning all of them were out! The parents are both black, but one of the babies is sandy coloured! the rest are all black! I've been hearing little squeaks all week but I thought it was Simon and Beetroot because they do that sometimes. They've put loads of bedding and a toilet roll over a jam jar for a nest, so all I could see this week was a bit of black, so I thought it was just the gerbils sleeping in there, and then yesterday I see a baby! and this morning I see more babies! I haven't been able to count them becuase I don't want to disturb the nest, but I think there's between 5 and 7 babies. They so cute!

now... how do I care for them? When can they leave their parents? How do I sex them????

Find out which is male and take it out. Otherwise they will mate again and it won't be very nice for the mother to be pregnant while looking after babies. I can't remember what to feed them, I think it's bread and milk, but Google it.

lol! i don't know anything about babies, but that sounds like the same thing that happened with my guinnea's parents!

my friend had two "lesbian" guinnea's....one of them was getting fatter, and fatter....she thought it was just putting on weight....next thing you know, theres 2 little piggy babies in the cage! lol...i don't get how she mistaked her male for a female though....them things have huge balls....well, at least mine does. lol.

Well gerbils are famous for humping all the time and popping out the babies. Separate the female from the male with a simple tank devider if your useing a tank. If not but a tank :p

The gerbil babies are normally easy to get rid of. Offer then to a pet store or a school with a vetrinatry program. :D

BABIES!

I do not know how to determine the sex - but you better figure it out quick huh?..... You know I was told a story once of someone mistaking a cat as male instead of female - then she came home with a litter of kittens - oopsy??? Too funny have fun with your new little babies!!! :D
