I Guess It's Time To End The Hobby.

Gravel vacuum failed. Apparently, the tank is too low for suction to work properly. Either that or my tube was too long. I tried multiple times, but all it did was scare Tzuppy. -.- I guess I'll just use the net for now to pick up debris...
Also, after cleaning my filter today, when I put it back into the tank... all the stuff in Pandora's box came out of it! X_X I hope it will suck it back in, as I now have some semi-transparent stuff floating in the tank. I have netted most of it out but some just won't go... and the fish are eating it.

Aww, I hope things pick up for you soon.

I fancy myself as a graphic designer and I've done work on logos and websites and stuff for clients in the past. What I always do is watermark my work, so the client can see that I've done the work and exactly what they're getting, but I'll only remove the watermark after I've been paid. It keeps everyone protected.

The tank you've got right now is too small, there's no doubt about that, but your fish have lived that way for long enough now, so another week or two won't be too bad. You obviously care about your fish but it's out of your hands right now, so try not to let it stress you too much.

Who knows, I hope it may get solved earlier.

Anyway I probably won't be a graphic designer for them as I am a beginner in Maya (though I find it quite easy to handle lighting and some textures, I am currently working on a solar system animation and also modeling two characters for my movie project, but the team I was working with just got disassembled and I only have 3 more people besides me in it :( ). I have worked in 3ds max and it was easy to animate in it, but modeling was AUGHHHHHHHHH! And render times killed me. Just for a wall with 100% reflection I had to wait several minutes, whereas Maya does it in under a minute.
A small part of my solar system animation is already on youtube under the name DETONATOAREA if you want to check.

Yeah but I wish I had known on time, I could have gotten a better tank long ago when I had money. But I had invested it in a better workstation. -.- My catfish has lived for a year in that tank, all alone. I felt sorry for him but I made the stupid choice of getting 2 small fish to keep him company. Well, they do keep him company, as they seem to shoal together (even though they are not shoaling fish). But they also make more litter, whereas Tzuppy only makes one ball a day.
As soon as I get money, no matter from which job, I'll get to work on either buying or making them a good and huge home.

And... did I upset the filter by cleaning it? It let out a lot of trash in the bowl I was cleaning in. Then I put it into the tank and it spread the dung in it but it sucked it up nicely now. It smells quite nice though, I expected it to be stinky. I like the smell of that filter.

My filter normally lets out a load of stuff whenever I do anything inside it, but it tends to suck it up quite quickly again. If there's an excessive amount of it you can pick it out with a net.

Yeah it's all cleared now and what ever floated on the top of the water has been netted.

But still can't figure out why I cannot siphon the water using a hose. Could it be too long? Or is the tank too low? I've been trying with a hose for now, as the only bottle I have has been filled with juice and I really don't want that junk to enter the tank. I left it under hot water and it's still smelling like orange juice. -.-
Maybe a pump would do better...

And I have a question about food:
besides the bloodworms and daphnia, what natural vegetable food can I feed the fish? Are boiled or defrosted peas a good treat? What about garlic?
I've also heard about eggs being fed to fish, but I'm not willing to cause pollution of the tank water so rather not.

Regarding your question on food depends on what your fish like my Plec Loves cucumber I just either cut it up and
Put It in or run boiling water over the top to softern it, courgette is also gd and yes I think peas but I dont know how to prep it SOS,

But my other fish love Bloodworm but not the veg

The only reason I was asking was that I don't want to cause them belly aches or worse. As peas act as a laxative and if the fish isn't clogged up, wouldn't that result in lots of poop?
I wonder if Tzuppy likes cucumber.
I think my swordies like pretty much anything that goes into the water, because when I was trying to make that hose work to vacuum the tank, they were pecking my arm. Reminds me of those bettas I had. They used to peck like that. Next time I get some cucumber, I'll try to give them some small pieces.
But I hope they don't contain stuff that could hurt the fish (knowing the junk that those vegetables get treated with, I'm surprised we humans can eat them and still live).

Hey, I'm an artist myself! I'm a former Art Director, who's now a Sales Manager, who does his own designs at a Sign Company. :good:

I wish that my job would have to do with art some day... Though I don't know if I'll ever get to that point besides it being a hobby. Maybe if being a video game tester might also help me with developing better skills for 3D animation, that might come true some day.

And what other fish food should I try (meat)?
Long ago I used to feed tubifex and they had this interesting vanilla or caramel smell to them while alive. But maaan my nose almost fell off when those things died. I couldn't keep them alive for longer than a week. But I heard that those things are not healthy for the fish.

So what else is there? Brine shrimp? How good are those?
What about black mosquito larvae? Are they better than bloodworms?

It's very hard to make it as a designer, animator, etc. Not that you couldn't do it, but it does take a lot of time before you're making decent money at it.

I feed all my fish frozen bloodworms & brine shrimp, once or twice a week. They don't like the bloodworms as much as the brine though, I have to mix it in with the shrimp & then they eat both. I mix a cube of each together and I feed a little bit to each tank with about half going to the 36 gallon, the rest I split between the two 20 gallons.

I'm not even looking for decent money, but if some day I will have a job I enjoy, a smaller salary wouldn't bother me as long as I can cover up for the taxes, my food, internet, my fish/turtle and newt and uhh... meh, I can't drive a car so I don't know what else to spend money on. I don't usually spend money unless it's on something I'll get something else out of and it lasts. Yep, not much going on in my life.

I wonder if the local pet shop sells brine shrimp. I don't know if Tzuppy would like those, but then again he vacuums everything. It's interesting how he can filter stuff he doesn't like in food. Long ago I had these bloodworms that had small snails in them. He would suck in the worms and filter the snails through his operculum openings. How does he do that?

It's all good, I'm sure you'll figure it all out. Here in the US having a car is not a luxury, it's a necessity. How else will you be able to get to work? I wish I could work from home myself, to spend more time with the fishes.........

We use the common transport here. But I don't know if it is a luxury or not, just that even if you do manage to get one, the taxes for pollution for the cheapest cars will make you tear your hair out. Plus that I'm car sick.

And I don't seem to have any luck in working from home. Wasn't contacted by my boss so far (though I know he left his pc on non-stop, as he's still signed in on Hamachi for 4 days now). If he wanted to hide, wouldn't he shut that one down as well?

Tomorrow I'm applying for that job at Ubisoft. I may not be able to work at home, but playing all day and doing a detective job to find bugs or what people might not like at a game sounds nice. (now, it sounds too good to be true though, and even if I do get hired, there's college that I'll have to sign up for during summer...)

Also, my boss just got back from hospital. Hmm, maybe i'll be working 2 jobs at once then. To fill the free time I have.
