Well I did it, I got my nanocube today. It is a 12gal dx model. Crossing my fingers it doesn't crack. One day with this thing and before any water went in I already modded the crap out of it. I changed the return pump out to a maxijet 1200. I added a locline Y with some extensions to get the returns crashing around better. I just got done moddifying the lighting system so I can keep my moon lights going while my main lights are on a timer. I am currently writing a huge pictorial DIY on this and will post it so others can enjoy the fruits of my labors. Its the first time in about a year and a half I got to use my electrical engineering backround so I'm pumped it worked out. I probably won't run a fuge mod as I am starting out with less sensitive livestock, and if anything gets out of whack I'll get it out with water changes. I may use the stock return pump on the other side with a hydor-flo, haven't yet decided. I want to see what the maxijet does first. I also got the skimmer plate for the overflow.
I am going to cheat and steal the best rock out of my 120 gal along with some water and sand. So hopefully I can jump start this thing right off and start stocking it. Thanks to SH for the inspiration. If it all goes well it is going to be one beautiful tank.
