I missed the FedEx delivery, too, but I went and picked them up. They are in the box waiting to be admired--shhh...quietly... :look:

I still have to get some things set up before I can completely unpack them. :look:

Later :look: :D

Have fun getting to know your newbies. I don't know how you haven't opened the box. I couldn't hardly wait to rip mine open. Can't wait to see pics!

Same here! :hyper:

Thanks, gals!

Ok here's what I think I see:

The CrackerJack is two females and a male, very light--maybe off white. They are young, 3-4 months, and laying quiet right now in their bags, so I'm not quite sure what they are--if I would even know. Tomorrow when they are settled a little more, I will try to get something resembling some pics.

The pair is young, too, and are the green/red HM DT Butterflies.

I need advice on housing to start with.

I'm guessing that the CrackerJacks are siblings. Would it be generally ok to room the two female siblings together without a divider in a 10 usg?

OK I have 2 Hex 5's, 1 Eclipse 3, two 10 usg--one with a divider.

I have two sibling females (I'm guessing), a sibling male, a sibling green/red pair, two veil tail males.

Could I put the 2 females together in a 10 usg, the veil tails in a divided 10 usg, the green/reds in the two Hex 5 's displayed near each other, and the remaining CrackerJack male in the 3 usg for now?

I have concerns having the males and females near each other and the males near each other. Do you just do it and then observe behaviors and what's working?

Having them near each other would not be a problem, at least not in my experience. But I suppose keeping an eye on them to make sure you don't have any tailbiters is a good idea. As for putting the 2 girls in the 10 gallon I would say no to that. Is it possible for you to get 4 more girls, so you have a total of six, so you can spread out the agression. If it is not an option my suggestion would be to divide the 10 gallon that you were going to put the girls in twice to put the two boys that were going in the hex's then have the girls each in a hex five. Hope that makes sense and works out. I know it did in my head, but now it seems a bit confusing.

Yeah I can get more dividers tomorrow. Just one would do it for now. I can put one in a vase until then.

I kind of liked the idea of putting the colorful couple in the hexs. I will put one veiltail in a 10 tonight and leave one in his vase one more night. Tomorrow I will put in a divider.

I also have to home the 25 pygmys.

Is there a reason to put the girls in the Hex's? Putting the couple in a divided tank might be convenient if I was ready to breed but that is unlikely at this time.

There are 3 girls: 2 CrackerJacks and a HM DT Butterfly sister to a male.

There are two more to get settled. It is 5 am here and I'm nodding when I sit down.

I have a Cracker Jack girl (she's pink taffy) and the metalic green/red girl to finish getting into their apartments. !0 minutes and I'm done. My only worry is the serpaes with many of the little cories.

I'll post some pics tomarrow, The Cracker Jacks are pink w/ taffy tails. One of the girls is more gold.

Later.
