I got live rock

The white worms are pods. Anything small and crawling is going to be beneficial. The mantis shrimp are your only worries. All sponges, worms and crawly critters will eat detritis and keep the water clean. Those are your filter. Every time I freak and post on RC "What is THIS?!?" (you can search on that, by the way, and find me) with a picture, I get a "I wish I had those!" reply. You are in good shape.
Likely will have corals sprouting after a while if you treated the rock properly when adding it to the tank.

I agree. I didn't find them for a while, but I did eventually notice that my live rock came with four feather dusters hidden in nooks and crannies. What a find!

OK just for reference if anyone out there doesn't want their "creepy crawly things" that come along with your live rock. Gather 'em up and ship "em to me

I never get anything good on my L R . The stuff we get here in Philadelphia is nice to look at nothing spectacular but OK . But it has very little "creepys" in it, I guess because it takes awhile to fully cure it the LFS owners pick out all the neat stuff to sell. Can't say as I blame them the over head on this stuff must be astronomical.

The one thing from the live rock that i do wish i had is that cute little itty bitty teeny weeny starfish. I think its a starfish coral? its like a bit smaller than a dime.

He'll get you some of the stars. Or ask a local from the club (find it on RC if you haven't already) and you're bound to find people who will give you some stars, and a cup of sand too.
