I got a new aquarium cleaner and I’m kinda afraid of it

This used to really bother me too, until I did a bit of research on the chemistry involved and gave it some thought. I use a python on my 150g tank--it's in a business, and I do big water changes to keep the organics under control, and having several dozen gallons of water lying around for several days isn't an option. I add enough water conditioner to treat the whole tank, not just the water being added--that's important. I also have the filter running. So, the water conditioner gets circulated through the whole water column, and the chlorine/chloramine gets instantly nuked as it contacts the aquarium water. I doubt the fish ever get a whiff of it, and it's certainly neutralized before it gets into the filter or the substrate. No problem.

Anyway, my angelfish have not embarked on a campaign of militarization (at least not anymore than what you'd expect from a school of angelfish), nor have they set up any concentration camps to try to exterminate the tetras, so I guess we're doing OK.
I do understand that everyone's situation is unique. I'm fortunate that I have the space to age my water and that it is handy to my aquariums. Aging your water for several days under aeration is the best way but if you've found another method and you can sleep at night then more power to you.
Keep your eye on those Angelfish.

I’ve learned the hard reality of this water cleaner. And now…. Now it’s time to go to war.

A Painful lesson was learned.

No more fishes down the drain.

Always be very careful! Keep it away from your fish! And if one goes up, clamp the tube so they dont keep going down!...

Two in rapid succession went in and I barely BARELY caught them 😩😩😩

One actually went down the drain and I rushed in after him and managed to barely catch his tail. That was two weeks ago and other than loosing a little bit of his tail he looks very healthy and he’s just as energetic as he always is.

But holy cow that was one of the most stressful moments of my lifeeeeee. I had them trapped in my hands in the tub, and I had to scream at my sister to come help me because I couldn’t stop the water drain while holding them and the incoming water was pushing them out of my hands. And I couldn’t move my hands either without loosing them so I needed the extra pair of hands for help
