I finally got some nitrite. yay. :)

It has been a week since i started the fishless cycle with my new 10 gal tank.

And, yesterday i tested my water and finally there was some nitrite.

yesterday, nitrite level was ~.2ppm. and today, the level is ~.5ppm which is higher than yesterday.

But, i have a question.

Is that considered as "nitrite spike?" or do i need to add same amount of ammonia that i added before and wait one more day?

The nitrite spike is the highest level of nitrite that you get to in the cycle. The nitrite will continue to build fairly quickly and when you get the same reading a few days in a row then that is you spike level. That is when you half the dose of ammonia. HTH
