I finally did my water tests!

Ok my tank has been set up for 2 weeks and here are the results i just did, is this good for 2 weeks? ive been cycling with fish and need to know what the next step is, should i now do a big water change?

Ammonia- 0
Nitrite- 0.1
Nitrate- 10

Those reading are very good. It is early days for your tank though and it may be that the cycle hasn't really started yet.

The best thing is to take daily readings now and if the ammonia starts to rise then the cycling is starting and you will need to do regular water changes of about 25%. If the ammonia doesn't rise in the next couple of weeks, then you've been lucky and the cycle process has completed very quickly.

Just make sure that you do regular checks and you should be fine.

well i was expecting the ammonia to be higher, i've been cycling with 4 platies 5 tetras and a plecostomus, so i was a bit shocked

It is unlikely that your cycle has completed already but you never know, keep an eye on it and you may be pleasantly surprised!

I hope so because i have 2 apple snails coming tuesday so fingers crossed
