Fish seem to have this strange power over everyone... they seem to convert even self-declared animal haters into fish lovers and enthusiasts. Why do you think this hobby is so popular? :p

You converted her in less than 2 weeks. :shifty: Well done, candy!

My Mom was the same way when I bought her a dog.

Wow! That's pretty neat! I'm very excited and happy for you :kana:

I hope the five-gallon tank isn't for the goldfish! They's messy little fishies...and they need more space

Enjoy your Khulis! I want some, but my husband really hates the way they look. Since he's letting me have my 29-gallon tank set up in our tiny apartment, I try to get fish that he likes

How can you have a goat in an apartment?
Well, you see, first you bring the goat to the apartment, and then you open the apartment door and bring the goat in. Viola! A goat in an apartment! :p Yeah, I'm tired, I need to go to bed.

Really, though, all of the animals in my signature, with the exception of the fish, are staying with family or friends. Mayhaps I should clarify that in my signature, eh? :)

My mum was like that "Fish?! ...First it was horses ...then you want a dog ...which we have now ...and now you want Fish?!"
And at the Fish Store... she was falling in love with the saltwater marine aquarium  "...wow... how pretty... Why don't you get some of those fish?"

I explained to her that I needed a larger tank and it had to be saltwater... she was dissapointed  So she asked me that after I moved out I would set up a saltwater tank for her. And she would pay for everything... but I had to look after the fish. I agreed :D

My dad always loved fish... but never had any luck keeping them. He likes all tetras, gouramis, cichlids and other colourful fish ;) My brother loves goldfish :)

So I got my whole family hooked... but they still don't want me getting a big tank :/ ...I'm just going to have to wait till I move out.

My mum thinks it crule to keep fish my sister is so jelous so she gets pis88ed off with them my grandma hardly sees them so that leaves my dad well he think my tank don't need filters light jus water and fish no maintenance no waterchanges nutin.

I THINK UR VERY LUCK TO HAVE SOME1 ELSE PAY FOR IT! I've been banned from replacing fish and spending money on them.

i also did the i want a cat..i got 5 ..i want a horse ..i get a race horse...i want a dog ..got a mastif..i want fish..bf got then for me..i want a bird ..mine talks

i guess im pretty lucky to have a cool mum and dad.as long as i work hard at school and dont do anything stupid..they are happy, how many people can say they dance 6 ballet classes a week have a horse they ride every moring and live by the beach..

now im thinking about getting a sheep..what u all think

My parents had a fish tank when i was really young, like 3 or something. They got rid of it when they moved house cos i was to hard to keep up with maintenance wise.

Now that us kids are all grown up and moved out, they have been planning on getting another tank. Dad has been thinking about it for a year or so but has been to lazy to go looking for one.

I showed them some photos of my fish tank, and they came over last nite and saw it. Today they are going to the LFS in the city and next weekend they are going fish tank hunting.

I think you should get goats instead :) They're much smarter and friendlier and make better pets (I've had both sheep and goats). I sent you a PM.

I had a childhood similar to yours - my sister, mom and I loved critters, so we moved to a farm. We had horses, cattle, chickens, ducks, Guinea Fowl, goat, sheep, rabbits, dogs, cats, and perhaps other critters that I've forgotten to mention. I feel very blessed.

Now I live in a city <sigh> and can only have fish. Husband and I will be moving to the country when we can, though

What an absolutely gorgeous beautiful pretty goat! I just wanna hug it!

I love goats.

Sheep - cute, fluffy, they like to headbutt you, their babies taste nice, but they are cute and I've found much easier to feed and walk than goats.

Goats- cuter, more intelligent, funnier (mine won't eat anyhting thats been on the floor, I have to wash it first!) They smell, but they are so much more fun!

Go for goats! But two, not one. They'll get lonesome.
