My Male betta arrived yesterday afternoon that I'd bought from a breeder on ebay. Looked a bit wierd in it's behaviour but I thought it was because it was a bit stressed.

I got in this morning from a night shift and it was dead! :grr: Scales poking out all over its body, swollen and looked like it's gills had exploded.

Even worse is that I'd left good feedback when it arrived!

Gutted!

similar happened to me last year never ordered fish from
the site again!!!

 Ouch...

Contact the seller maybe he'll discount the next fish? :good:

EDIT : What kind of behaviour?

tragic! id be peeved too. poor fish (and poor you:(
better luck next time
cheers

Sorry to hear that :( It's always horrible to loose a fish but so soon after buying it is especially hard. The swelling sounds like dropsy?

TBH thinking about it, the strange behaviour I noticed does seem to be similar to that of a dropsy suffering betta
So that now makes -

one female - died soon after buying
one male - rehomed due to being very naughty
one male - died within 12 hours
and
one male - too stressed constantly for me to let it stay

I'm not having much luck with them

Well as expected with ebay or any kind of fish provider they are trying to make it seem like my fault even though the fish died within no time of being in the tank after being correctly acclimatised. Sigh!

That is a real shame. It does sound like the case of dropsy. Hmmmm I would get Ebay/Paypal involved if they cant come to an agreement. Have you looked through their feedback to see if anyone else had problems??

p.s. please pm me the seller if possible as I know of one troublemaker on there.

The guy you brought it off has good feed back..

If it was Dropsy he sholud'nt of sold it to you anyway it did say on his profile "If the fish is unwell we will treat it blah blah blah"

oh dear.....that does sound pretty bad hm...poor fish! hope you get it sorted out soon
