i moved freckles from his 2.5 to his 1 gallon so i could put velvet in the 2.5 and guess what... for 30 minutes freckles was in tap water ARGGGGGG im so effing stupid... teach me how to not forget PLEASE!!!!

You have to either build it completely into your routine, so you CAN'T not add dechlor, or you have to prep the water long before you're going to use it. The first option may include putting the bottle of dechlor right in front of your nose, or right in front of the tank. The second option may mean extra tanks that don't hold fish...that just hold water. Or even large barrels.

hmm yes i will write it on my forhead USE PRIME in permanent marker OR get it tattoed on my hand :p than maybe poor freckles will live more than 2 moths jeez!

I fill my empty tanks up right under the tap - and I always put the stress coat in while I'm fillin them up. They make bubbles. NO bubbles, I forgot something. Just to clarify - the bubbles go away immediately after the water stops running.

I haven't forgotten yet.

lol thats cool! yea i think im gonna just leave my prime in my bathroom right THERE!! *points to sink* so i will NEVER EVER forget!! i will let you guys know weither i get it down or not saturday on everybodies water change :p

I fill up right out of the tap, too. I have a complete routine...fill it up, turn around to the closet, use the dechlor. If I'm not putting the dechlor away as I'm starting toward the door, then I've done something wrong and I know it in my bones.

Get a new plastic trash 30 gallon container and filled up the water by adding conditional. When you need to change water, you already got aged water prepare and you don't have to worried about for a while.

Man, I'm glad our house isn't on city water. The water in our area is supplied by a privately owned well, and I guess whoever owns it doesn't put as many harsh chemicals in it as the city puts in their water, because I've forgotten dechlor before and my fish didn't even seem to notice the difference :p

Since I have only 1 betta in a one gallon bowl, I just buy bottled water, it isn't very expensive....but sometimes I wonder how do you know that "declor " is really safe for the bettas?

Glad to hear Freckles is okay. :)

I have a little office-caddy for my betta stuff... a little grey thingy with lots of cylindrical compartments and trays. I put my net, food, pH test solution, meds, siphon etc. in it. The conditioners are right up the front and the caddy is next to Jerry's tank so I never forget.

Maybe try something like this. You can get office-caddies for a few bucks at most office stores or newsagents. If you can't find one, even a box will work. Anything that will keep your fishy stuff organised.
