that catfish is awesome!!!! a catfish i assume? how big does it get, what does it eat, how much does it cost.

FOTM for Juvenile Sturisoma panamense.

Thanks :)

I will post more pictures of my Sturisomas this week. They will grow to about 20cm, eat algae, pellets, lettuce etc. I don't know how much they cost there, but I bought mine from a breeder, 8,50 euros each. They are interesting South American fish and perfect for a planted aquarium, imho. I think that they are called Royal Farlowella or Royal Twig Catfish.

Some information from Planet Catfish.

I found two almost recognisable pictures I took today of my Sturisoma.

How come the tanksthey are in are small? Whats minimum size for them? I want one.. they ar e bootiful.
I usually put them in a plastic mug for the time I take their pictures (it's easier that way), but otherwise they live in normal tanks.

Kaakao died last night. She spawned two days ago with the chocolate/black male and after that her belly just bloated and I couldn't do anything to help her. The water was clean and I used methylene blue, but when I woke up, she was dead. And no eggs/babies, the male tried to eat the eggs again. :/

RIP, my dear baby.

Thank you.

But life goes on. Her brother Karkki is just doing it for the first time with a nice red girl (a plakat, propably). They both just gathered the eggs and put them in the bubble nest. I hope there will be lots of babies

Karkki again:

Uh, and I really should get that glass tank soon just for taking photographs. All the jars and mugs I have are roundish and when the boys flare at each other they always go to the edge of the jar.

I was thinking about 30cmx15cmx20cm tank split from the middle so I can put there two boys for a photo shoot at the same time as I do now (really easy to get them to flare...).

Here's a picture of Kuisma, one of my K-fry. He lives in my friends aquarium now, but I get to know what he's been up to. He doesn't like Tetra Discus granules, picky one :D
