Top one is some kinda Aulonocara species but not sure which, think its a female too.. Second pic looks a little like a Melanochromis parallelus but not 100% sure, yours could be a hybrid. :good:

I dont know still looks like parallelus to me, your fish has slight brakes in the lines on its body but it could just be a poor bred fish.

Fair enough, i just think theres a few too many brakes in the bars for it to be a poor parallelus. Then again its quite common with poorly bred melanochromis to have markings like these.

Yeah i know what you mean, just dome parallelus do have thicker and thin lines but usually with no brakes, so could be a hybrid or just poor bred.

it would be easier to tell if the quality of your pictures were better so if you can get some that would help.

from what I can go off i'm guessing the top fish is a aulonocara hybrid. It could be a specific species that has not fully colored up but like i said a better picture would help. I'm pretty sure it is a hybrid though.

Im thinking poorly bred Chalinochromis brichardi, although hard to tell as not all of them exhibit the striping like that.(second fish) althought the Melanochromis parallelus is definitely a good though. The first photo is def. a zebra hybrid, although not sure of its species. i've seen pseudotropheus hybrids exhibit the same pattern.
