Well, I've evacuated to my boyfriend's house for the hurricane. He's in the military stationed about 4 hours away from New Orleans. Anyway...all my bettas evacuated with me. He's been pretty curious with them. Feeding them, watching them swim around and *TRYING* to rename them. He even said "Babe...I see why you like them so much. I'm thinking of getting one of my own."

The other day we went to a local pet store and they have the most beatiful, most healthy bettas I've ever seen in a pet store. They're all veils. My boyfriend was looking at one in particular that he liked a lot. He went to work today and I went to the pet store to buy his betta to surprise him, but I just couldn't resist and I bought one for myself, as well. I stood there looking at them for a long time and I had such a hard time choosing because none needed to be "rescued." There's one that I really can't stop thinking about and I think I'm going back tomorrow to get him.

My boyfriend's betta is this really intense blue with red streaks in his tail and mine is a celophane with red spots on his fins. They're both so cute. The one that I'm going back for tomorrow is white with purple butterflying and he's soooo cute. I hope he'll still be there!

Ok...long post. I was just excited and wanted to rant about the new guys. :)

My usb cord is still back in New Orleans. I'll try to get ahold of a new one tomorrow when I go out to get that other fish. I'll post some pics ASAP :)

Oh, and the two new guys now have names. I named mine Sparky and my boyfriend named his...I think he said Lapiz. It's some sort of blue stone. I'm just going to call him Piz, which I think is pretty cute.
