Well seems I spoke too soon with regards to Edwards Whitespot problem. Well not really as his Ich is almost gone.
but it seems like he's got a little bit of Fin rot, his tail seems shredded on the end tips? And they look kind of stuck together
Like one big bit of cardboard - when he swims he uses his whole body (kind of like a snake in the sand) to move, rather
than just moving his fins

*sighs*

Any suggestions?
And best form of treatment??

Thanks guys.

well does Edward have any tank mates? if not then raise the temperature on the heater to about 30 degrees.

No tank mates
Heater is already at 30 as I have been treating him for Ich for the past few weeks, temp has been raised since then.

Ok......

Well can anyone reccommend a certain medication? As I know with the Ich problem I wasted weeks until I was advised to try Copper Sulphate.

So I'd much rather avoid that again.

Thanks

Can you get a photo? Finrot may be bacterial or fungal, and depending on what's actually causing it the treatment is very different (generic 'fin rot' remedies generally do very little, they are essentially watered-down broad spectrum crap.)

Well he's certainly very active which is a good sign. Finish his Ich treatment, then run some carbon in the filter for about a week to remove any traces of Ich medicine, keep the water very clean ect, then treat him with a fin rot treatment.

I don't know if you can get it over there but there is a treatment here called Myxazin CLICK

Dunc got fin rot last year when his filter died in the night. That stuff cleared it right up.
