hey, i bought a 3ft fish tank today and ive set it up how long till i can put my fish in it 24 hours is it ?

Yes, very wrong It can take over a month to cycle a tank properly using Ammonia or a food bag. there are emant to be ways of speeding it up but opinion is split on whether anything works.
Of course if you can get your hands on someones filter sponge, straight out of their tank, then you can avoid cycling as you will have a fully mature sponge already
