I got 5 new corys. I already had 2 elegans. 1 male and 1 female. I wanted some more to go with them. I didn't watch the bag closely enough.
I think I have another male and female. I am not sure.
Then there are 3 that are something else.

Are 2 of these really elegans, or something else that looks similar?
What are the other 3?

I am adding several pictures. I hope you can tell what they are.
It will take several posts to get all the pics up. I am still learning how to do this...

Ok... that is it for the pics of the new fish.

If that one is bronze, then one of what I was told was elegans may be bronze. I am going to add a pic of the one I already had.

This is my origional pair. Is it not the same fish?

Also what might be the issue with the new fishes fins. They look somewhat torn up.

Thank you for all help in figuring this out :good:

I did a search on delphax. It does look like it. The only difference I see is that mine doesn't have as sharp of a hump in its back, and mine has a longer nose. Does that change as they age?

Any one know about the others?

Thanks! :good:

It figures that I would end up with none the right kind. The aeneus is ok though. I already had 2 females that kind that needed a friend. Now I just need about 2 more of those.
The delphax I got 3 of the other day. They should be ok. They atleas have a couple of friends.
The napoensis is the problem. I only have 1. It was the one that I really looked at in the store. I really thought it was elegans. It looked so much like the one I already had. I don't know how you tell the difference. I can't. What do you look at to know one from the other? Will it hang out with the elegans? Are they kin to the elegans? And... will it breed with my elegans? I need to know if I can keep it, or if it needs to find another home.

Lots of questions... I know. This was so much easier when I got fish because it was "pretty", and it didn't matter how many. It has gotten complicated now that I have to hunt certain types and get a certain amount of them. I am now working on 3 schools of corys that I only have because I suck at telling one kind from another. I am going to have to find someone to start going with me to show me the right fish. I know what I am after, but rairly end up with the right one.

Also... How do you know what kind of albino you have? They all look pretty much alike to me. I have a male and female. I just don't know what kind they are or if they are even the same kind. I didn't know that there were more than one kind when I got them.

Thanks for all of the responses. Please continue to help. :thanks:
