ok i am very new to this lol I bought a tank last sunday set it all up put the water in etc etc. and have left it on since. .... what do i need to do? sorry if i sound dumb but i want to get it right lol

Read the posts on cycling, you need to do this to ensure the filter has the bacteria required to breakdown the poisonous waste produced by the fish, ammonia, to a less dangerous compound, nitrate.
