Hi,

My name is rebecca and I have MTS....

It all started about 4 months ago when my hubby bought me a 15g tank to cheer me up. I bought some tetras and platies. Then came babies  My little community grew and I bought a 5g fry tank but my platies wouldn't play ball, always giving birth when I least expected. So I thought I would put a betta in my 6g but when I got to lfs I saw some female bettas and had to have them and bought 3. Of course my tank was too small, so I bought a 10g tank just for them and bought another betta to keep them company.

Now I had a 15g community tank, a 10g female soriety tank and an empty 6g tank. What to put in it.....yes you got it a male betta. I then decided that my poor platy fry were not fairing well in the community tank and persuaded my hubby that I should get another fry tank just for them. Well I went looking for a small tank and bought a 12g one. This now holds 1 adult and 1 juvenile platy, oh and 4 albino cories. They were so cute I had to have them. More fry will follow once I can catch them from main tank.

I am now hoping to move house and my main concern is where will the tanks go, oh and I also want a 55g tank. I am planning to combine my 15g and 12g into one big community tank. I also want a cichlid tank. I can pass on my smaller tanks to my kids.. :hey: so the cycle continues...

Be warned there is no cure but I wouldn't have it any other way

think were all suffering, your not alone!

I'm currently in 'discussions' with my fella over how many tanks he's allowed to bring when he moves into mine. He's 1 massive one already set up, then 1 teeny one thats in progress, and plans for about seventy billion more  that'l be well over 200G worth of tanks in a 1 bedroom house

Hah I have a similar story :) My boyfriend and I set up a 20 gallon tank last December, just for something to look at and to keep the cat entertained while we were at work. Neither of us knew anything about fish keeping (the most I'd done is throw a bunch of random fish in a 10 gallon tank and hope for the best, not knowing anything about water conditions and whatnot), but we just tried different things and failed a couple times but had fun anyways.

Well that was all fun and great, but then one day I just happened to wander into Petland and get to talking with the manager, and he mentioned they were going to be having a sale on 55 gallon aquarium kits starting the next day.. and being the day after payday I jumped on that deal and convinced him to give it to us a day early. So of course we needed more fish for this new tank :D That was in March.

A couple weeks ago (again the day after payday..) I wandered into Petland again and decided to buy a new home for my Oscar now that he's getting bigger.. so I came home with yet another 55 gallon kit. I think I'm going to stop at that because our livingroom is starting to look like a fish store, lol.. but who knows! It's definitely addictive and there's no cure!

i started with a small 9g tank and kept a small community in there (didnt know to much) then bought a 31g tank for the community fish so gave my little boy the 9g so he could have a betta and some adf`s so had my communtity tank going strong then wanted to keep cichlids so bought my self a 55g and set that up for mbuna all was going well till i decided i wanted more so i bought a 155g tank that im still to do something with looking like haps and peacocks then before i even set that up i got my mate to make me a tank for cheap i got a 72x24x24 with stand and lighting for £90 so thats another 180g not forgeting my 13g fry/hospital tank set up in my utility room. Oh how my wife loves my oh yeah and ive just bought a rekord 80 for my little boy for his birthday so that gives me:
1x9g
1x31g
1x55g
1xvision 450 155g
1x72x25x25 180g
and a small 13g tank not bad for 22yrs old.

Wow that's quite the collection :) I'm hoping to eventually have a huge tank, not even sure how big.. just huge :) First I've got to move and get my own place though.. I definitely wouldn't want to transport a tank that size OR the fish that would be in it.

Heh that's alot of water :) doesn't the filter noise bother you? Between the computers and the filters in my livingroom it sounds like something's about to take flight.. lol.

if i think about it then it is quite loud but its not a buzz, jus running water so it doesnt bother me.

if im not thinkin about it tho then i dnt notice it.

PCs in here too and i really need a quieter fan on the thing, can here it over the water nearly.

The medication I'm on seems to be working, started with a 15 gallon, then came across a bargain secondhand,so I got a 20 gallon there, then needed a tank for preparing the water so got a cheap 10 gallon, then thought I needed a quarantine/hospital tank,so found a hexagonal complete on fleabay. But the medication has stopped it there....for the moment....... :fun: :fun:

right now i have 1 v.small bedroom and 5 fish tanks up to now only one has fish in but im working on the rest

Wow 20 tanks.. I couldn't even imagine. I hope you had a really big house so you could spread them all around :) That'd be neat. A fish tank in every room :D

I have my 20 gallon in the kitchen.. it's nice to have something to watch while doing dishes, heh.
