I'm still beavering away at my studies but still longing for my GCSE's to be over and done with and the holidays to come cos that's when I'm going to revamp my tank. :D

I've always loved corydoras and was just wondering if my tank would be suitable to keep one in. I don't have many fish at the mo but I do have one platy, 6 glowlight tetras and 1 plecostomous about 15cm long in a 2ft by 1ft by 1ft. I know it's not very big but I'm only 16 and can't afford much more :( but still the fish keeping must go on!

I really love them and I've found out they are very hardy fish-is this true?

I would love to see pictures of people's own corydoras'.

Would my plecostumus get on with one in such a small tank? I was hoping just to keep the tank very simple and as I love tetras too I would have different species of tetra in the tank with them. Any reccomendations?

I would love to hear all your thoughts and ideas and once I do get it set up in the summer I'll send lots of piccies!

Thankies
Sarah

ditto i cant wait for my GCSE's to be over cuz then i can buy my new tank ^^,
and i cycled my tank with a bronze(yes i know its a small tank and yes i know its too small to house the correct nuumbers etc)
and it is also by far my fav fish

Remember that corys like to be in small groups of about 3 or more.

and also its worth remebering that not all corydoras are hardy
they do like to be in groups3+ is the min but the more the merrier as far as them getting along with plecs i have no problems with mine & plecs, it mite be worth you getting a bristle nose plec instead of a common as they max out at around 5/6". hth :D :D

Panda corydoras' arent as hardy as the others, apparently they prob need to go in a tank that has been established for approximately 6 months or so. But they're still an option since i presume they're going in an established tank by the sounds of it (?)

Thank you guys for all the great advise and photos!

I know that my commmon plec is a bit big and boistrous lol but I can't re-home her! I couldn't put her in another tank cos I cant afford another one and I don't want to give her away cos I love her!!! She's my baby

Hey jonesyUK I love your pygmy cories they're are very cute and beautiful. I can't believe they are so small!

Phoenix fish good luck with your GCSE'S they're not long off now and qwikimpss I don't have a clue lol! I'm 16 and will be going to college soon so they're pretty important otherwise I won't be able to get further qualifications.

When it comes to the time I will get as many cories as I can so they're happy and im happy lol :D

Can't wait yay!
