hi all does anyone have any experience with this plant. had it a while now and initially thought it was great. But its completely taken over my tank which is a fluval roma 125. its breached the water in several places and is almost touching both sides. im beginning to think that my tank looks untidy. thing is my fish love it. they love all the cover it provides and are thriving.  the bigger part of me wants to get rid and change it up a little. but I don't want to upset my fish. heres a few pics to show you what I mean. thoughts and recommendations welcome.

Yep, it used to do the same for me when I used to grow it! Trim it down to about half way up the tank and I'll have the cuttings ;)

And yes, you're right that the fish love it! Mine loved it so much that they used to spawn in it on a regular basis.

so do i sort of.lol i still havent trimmed it yet. the fish love it so much imfinding it hard to motivate myself to do it.

Think of it this way, if you trim it, it will grow back bushier :)

well im not going to be doing for at least 8 days now. my chocolate ourami's have spawned again. i dont want to upset the female who has a mouth full of eggs. finger crossed she will go full term this time. would be cool.

chocolate gourami's even.lol

Trim it and sell, swap or donate the stem cuttings.

After the breeding, as you say.

Well the day came. Unfortunately my chocolate gourami swollowed her eggs after three days. Should have expected it. So I engaged in some serious tank maintenance. And completely pulled the thing up. Tank looks empty now but I feel better about. I'm looking to replace it with some tall replacement's that won't go wild. Any suggestions folks.

Pretty much anything that doesn't have the word stem or sword in it's description.

For low tech crypts, mosses, smaller vallis or cyperus.

For higher tech the world is your oyster.

I'd even go so far as to skip Crypts as mine always end up taking over the tank like there's no tomorrow!
