In my short time of fish keeping iv met some really cool like minded people, hes one.
He basically grows his own produce using no soil, just the waste products from goldfish. Hes having really amazing results like growing radishes in 8 weeks!
Ive already planned a little grow patch to get some fast growing strawberries lol, but it jsut shows how valuable that 'fertiliser' we throw away everytime we do a waterchange, I can really see this taking off as i was amazed at the quality and speed of the produce

i use my old water on my Toms and green beans, and they are the best in the land. :good:

I wouldnt have even thought about it before, i would have considered the water to be polluted with all them chemicals but no its the vast opposite

NO3 and P04 are one of the main ferts for terrestrial plants. It also saves water if you're on a meter...winner!

yeah well if you have a looka t the setup its quite brilliant, from what i understand the water is pumped from the fish tank to the plants, the flants then filter thwe water and the water goes back into the fish tank clean. And then water used up by evaporation is replaced by rain water, so basically apart from the water pump (which he plans to attach to a solo panel at a later stage) its got no carbon footprint, genius

Got a 200 litre water butt outside that I keep filled up with tank water which then gets used on the plants, my toms are loads better than my non-fish keeping dad's :)

I have four water butts, two collect rain water and the others are for fish water. Use the fish water on the garden and veg and the rain water for my outside fish :)

Yep, I use old tank water for watering our hanging baskets; best baskets on our street and puts next doors potted flowers to shame!
