Hydor External Heater

No probs :) if I were you if you was looking to get a 405 I'd get a tetratec ex1200 instead. A 300 watt hydor external heater will go straight onto the pipes of the 1200 too with no problems. The 200 watt version wont fit though as the pipes are too wide. I paid £89 each for my ex1200's (I have 2 on my tank) and they were brand new and delivered.

Iv had a fluval 205, 306, 406, fx5 and an all pond solution ef2000+ and out of all of them I find the tetratec ex1200 by far the best. Also cheaper than the 406 :)

If this is what you advise and tried and tested I will.

Cancelled again LOL

So one 300w hydor heater and tetratec 1200 this should be more than enough for a 140 litre tank, thanks

Yep that should be spot on. The tetratec filter has excellent flow and is 100% silent

Yes 1 300 watt and 1 tetratec ex1200 will be more than enough. Like I said the general rule for heaters is 1 watt per litre and the ex1200 is rated for tanks of up to 500 litres which is more than the fluval 406 :)

Once you get the filter and heater you just cut the pipe in half where you want the heater to go. So you'll have inlet pipe coming out of the filter, into the bottom of the heater then the other half of the pipe coming out of the top of the heater and then carry on into the tank and onto the spray bar as normal :) there is an arrow on the heater pointing up so you know which way around it needs to go. The heat adjuster will be closest to the floor

am like a child waiting for xmas day, many thanks for the excellent advice :)
Your exactly like me then. I had to wait 2 weeks from the day i sealed the deal on my juwel rio 400 to the day I had it delivered. I was getting on my girlfriends nerves because I mentioned it every day lol the day it was being delivered I was literally bouncing off the walls lol such a child.

She thinks this was my last tank for a while... Although iv had it around 3-4 months, maybe a little longer but iv now got my eye on an 8 foot tank from nd aquatics :)

And no problem, happy to help :)
