Hurricane Katrina

For those that know me, I want to let you know both myself and my daughter are ok. This is the first time since the hurricane that we have power and phones. I also just found out our home is still intact, although we can't get to it. We're staying with relatives almost 4 hours inland and you wouldn't believe the destruction here from the hurricane. There are a lot of people in serious danger and in terrible conditions and if anyone can donate anything at all to the red cross or whomever, please do it. I have no idea when I'll be able to return home, they're saying it could be weeks to months before they get power and water back up. We need a lot of prayers for the people here, they're going to need it.

I dont know you yet, but I am sooo glad you and your daughter are okay. its a terrible tradgedy what is happening right now... I personally tried to donate 13 big boxes of clothes (womens, mens and childs) and the Red Cross is not accepting tangible donations at this time. Its just too overwhelming right now for them and I dont have money that I can give. I certainly wish your family the best.

If you have a clear channel broadcasting radio station in your area..they are taking donations of clothes, water, food, ect.

thats great to hear, know someone else from another forum who keeps bettas and he lived on the louisana coast, we have not heard from him since the day before the hurricane and suspect he is dead or in a shelter, he was a smart man, so i hope he is healthy and in some kind of camp. its great to hear that u and ur daughter got out of there, im also very glad to hear ur home is still in tact, many have lost their whole lives and i would hate to hear about one of the members loseing everything. i hope u can get back to your home soon, their talking liek 2 weeks for those that are father inland, and months before they will let anyone into the coastal reagions.

there is little more i can say except you are in our prayers. i hope you and the others who have been hit by this devastation will be ok. my family will do all they can to help, even from our distant shores.
