im getting my gran a filter for her pond since its quite infested with algae..
so do you think this would be okay for her pond,
the pond is a 500litre hexagonal pond

Work's 18 month old Hoselock pump in the Live Rock curing vat started to seap voltage this week. Perhapse look at another brand? The Oasis Aquarius range do well and handle running dry without damage IME. Obviously not something that you will have to worry about with a pond (you'd hope), but coral gravel going through one does no damage either, so deffinately "solids handling" for any crud at the bottom...

thanks for the feed back,
the pond is a heavily planted barebottom pond,
and is about 1.5ft deep, i can always try it and see how it does it says that it comes with a years warranty :good:

That wont help free floating algae.

For free floating algae you need a UV. Algae absorbs the UV light which damages its DNA structure and makes it clump together. The mechanical filter than removes the bigger clumps of algea.

The best pumps on the market are oase imo. they are low wattage and last along time (my current pump has lasted over 7 years and run 24/7)
