So, having been to one of my LFSs, I have drawn up the following list of potential fishies (pls excuse any spelling mistakes!) ...

Pseudos: - Orange
- Lombard
- Zebra Red Top
- Auratus

Melanochromis Jionnai

Yellow Labs

Demasoni

Was also wondering about a few plecos; gold nuggets, bristlenose, snowballs and flase imperial zebra

How is this looking?

What is the best way to add them, and how many juveniles should I get? Am thinking 20ish, added over a few weeks. Is it ever possible to add more in the future, or do I need to get the stock absolutely spot on first time?

Thanks in advance!

Forget the Auratus there the devils fish johanni is not much better deminosi needed to be added in groups but i would not advise then for a new tank maybe add them later, lombaro i think is also v aggressive ,zebra red top ? need a proper name same for the orange the only plec i would add is the b/n or some synos.

its best if you can add half one week then add the other half about a week later so your filters can take the bio load.

Fish can be added at a later date but its not always successful

20 is a bit over the top when there grown but no doubt you will have some multiple males which need to be removed.

IMO i would say 3 species of 1m-3f and a couple of b/n or 3 synos for a 180l 3ft tank

Thanks for the feedback adambrum - yes, it is probable that I will not end up having 20 adults in the tank, but want to keep my options open while they are small. Are there any other combinations of fish you could suggest as alternatives - just want to make sure I have plenty of blues and yellows :good:

how about

4 saulosi

4 cynotilapia afra

4 iodotropheus sprengera

This should be a colourful tank without to many problems.

Love the first 2! Thanks for those suggestions :)

i take it that means you don't like the look of the rusties...

i think the rusties are a great fish, particulalry the male when he gets his purple sheen - but its your call.

i however would also recommend the 4 saulosi (or 4 yellow labs) 4 Afras and 4 baeutiful rusties :good:

but its your call :hey:

Some lovely fish suggested. What about Acei? Two colours again on one fish.

Thanks for the replies - I am going to visit a coupld more LFSs over the next week or 2 and then finalise (with your help I hope!) my stocklist.

:good:
