I was wondering how this would turn out in my aquarium placed diagonally standing up. Any idea how it would grow to look?

It will grow towards the light, so you'll have the stick at 45 degrees and the java moss growing straight up.

Do you think that would look good? I'm not happt with what I've done so far. It needs something else. There are pics in the members aquarium section. Any help would be appreciated.

Personally, I feel that buying a bag of moss and tying it to mesh, rocks or wood, would be better.

Thanks thought so. I'll add a few new pics here, tell me what you think. This is the first time I've ever planted.

Pics coming now

Any ideas anyone on how this can be improved? I'm not happy with the back tbh.

yes, bamboo will eventually rot.

The tank looks nice, but newly planted, so keep your eye on it, as some of the leaves may get affected by their new surroundings. I second SBS, it would be cheaper to buy a bag of moss and some wood and do it yourself, that way you'd get it how you wanted.

Thanks. When you say affected what do you mean? Go bad? I take it I just pick them off if they do? Did I put too many at the back? I wanted to cover the back up but I dunno if it will turn out good or not. Thanks for the advice about bamboo I won't bother then. I really wanted a rock or something covered in moss.

a lot of plants need to get used to either being grown under water or new water conditions. They normally do this by 'melting', the leaves will look as they are melting. If this does happen, bare with it and take of the effected leaves.

You can never over plant a tank, the more the better. :good:

what lighting have you got over the tank?

Thanks for that tip I didn't know that. It's a 6watt strip light that came with the tank. How many hours a day should I have that on?

You can stretch that to 8 hours at first, after a month or so, you could maybe stretch it to 10 hours. You might not even need to add any plant food either, if your water changes are frequent enough, you may be able to get away with no plant food.

Thanks, I didn't know I might need plant food, how will I know if I need it? And what plant food do I buy? I water change onece a week. Thanks for your advice.
