I’m not sure where to post this, but here it goes.

To start off, I have a total of four tanks – A 3gal (empty at the moment, used to house a few “feeder fishâ€, Comets), a 5gal (has only one Betta in it), an 20gal (two Fancy Goldfish, yeah, I know. A 20gal is to small for them, that’s where I’m going with this) and a 50gal (with maybe 10 fish at the moment, 4 Dwarf Gouramis and maybe 6 small tetras)

Anyways, my 50gal tank started to crash a few weeks ago and all I was able to save was about 10 of the 33 fish I had in the tank. At this moment, everything seems ‘ok’ in that tank. I have a 20gal tank with two large Fancy Goldfish in it, Yes, I know, a 20gal is to small for the size Goldfish I have at the moment

But my question was, how would I go about taking the Tropical fish and moving them to the 20gal tank and putting the Goldfish in the 50gal tank?

I’m worried about switching the fish (mostly for the Goldfish, I’ve fallen in love with them!). I would need to drop the temp. on the 50gal to the right temp. for the Goldfish at the same time rise the temp. on the 20gal for the Tropicals, yet I’m not able to take the fish out of the tanks and more them until the temps. are right.

Any ideas to help me out here? I’m hoping to get the switch done by Sunday night (I’m have a small get-together and would like to have the tanks looking pretty, :D lol)

Thanks,
-Nikki

Tropical fish will be ok in cooler water for a little while maybe can add some warm water to the tank they will be going into once the gold fish have moved house... Got a big baby bath you can fill with cold water for the goldfish for awhile.... just some ideas.

my husband says goldfish are that fussy, if you had a goldfish bowl sitting on a window sill then it would get heated each day in the sun and it not like people through some ice cubes in for them. the the temp goes down in the evening, if this were the case... he says don' t worry, I told him he doesn't understand women and getting attached to pets....
