I am a little Worried about a Silver Arrowana.

I was on cleaning Duty all day.

I got to the Dragon Puffer Tank and was suprised to see the arrow.

I asked the Staff, and they looked at me for a 2nd and then I shouted for the Manager, and asked him how mush the Arrowana would be as there was no Price.

I don't think they knew it was in there - to tell the truth.

These tanks are:

5ft Long
3.5ft Deep
3 ft Wide

So I started flipping out and legged it to the other end.

He/She Fins are alll beat up from the Puffers/ or from him trying to jump out.

Now how wide is the Arrowana Supposed to be, Those of you that have them have lovely looking specimens, that look very thick and Shiny.

He/She is very thin only about 1cm thick and looked very sorry.

So Later in the Day when I was on My Own I asked all the other staff that were on When the last time it was fed......... NO-One had a Clue.

So I went to the Fry tank kept for feeding the Snake Head Turtles and Scooped out 10 Molly Fry. As soon as the Arrowana saw the net of fry he jumped and would not let go.

I had to lift him out of the tank to make him let go.

@ 5.30pm he seems to have eaten 3-4 of them. The rest of the Fry are in the Java Ferns.

I Hope He/She will be ok, I am not on again till Saturday.

I know How expensive these Fish are and @ 7Inches he could be worth alot.

1cm sounds a little thin but at just 7" the fish is only a few months old so is not too bad, with the right diet it will soon bulk up. Try to avoid using feeders with silver arowanas since eating too much meaty food can cause fatty deposits to build up behind the eye resulting in a condition called "droopy eye", insects like crickets and mealworms supplemented with floating pellets for carnivourous fish (Hikari floating carnivor sticks) is a much better diet. Silvers are the cheapest arowana species to buy, a 7" fish shouldnt cost more than about £30.

Thanks CFC, Feel a little better now.

I will find some carnivorous food for him, or I will get some off the Shelf.

The staff are supposed to check all the Tanks Every 2 Hours.
I have been there 2 Days and Have Got Funny Looks, when asking what they are feeding the Fry in this tank, and what about the fry in that tank.

Found some Canivore Pellets,

He has been Devouring these. He coils up then launches himself at the Pellets.

I Fed him 1 Yesterday

and 2 Today as I don't think Others will Remember to feed him During the Week.

I put a Big Label on the tub " Arrowana Food". Hoping the others would see it at feeding time,

he Looks alot happier today after feeding and Plumper.
