Good to have another tank to do it in though I think. For dwarf puffers you'll want ramshorn and/or pond snails, malaysian trumpet snails are a bit too hard for them I think.

Did use a 5 gallon tank with a simple sponge filter and very cheap gravel and a couple of plants. I soon stopped this as started to have problems with planaria, think due to overfeeding the snails. But briefly, it did work rather well
