How To Vacuum Clean Sand?

Ok i have now got my sand in and it seems fine, how to i use the gravel cleaner on sand?

swirl it around above the sand so the dirt all lifts up and then suck it up, you will get the hang of it eventually

The trick is don't use a gravel vac, just use a length of 5/8" tubing, get a siphon going, wave the end about 5mm above the sand and the poop will be sucked off the sand.
