hi quick question before i go to work, how/has anyoneset up a 600lph waterfall filter from all pond solutions?

iove no idea how to put it together and theres no instructions...

:(

ps its huge!!!

also, how is riccia supposed to look/behave?

it looked bright green when i put it in the tank but is now separated into lots of tiny little bits that look liek larvae..

is it dead/dying? it was quite dry when i got it.

bump, anyone got any ideas?

cant find anything online and have emailed aps but so far no response

Not sure on the waterfall pump, i used one of them silly wee indoor water feature ornament things that my girlfriend got. I just hit it a kick, of course I told her the cat done it.
Riccia I bought done the same, I just let it float on the surface, though it had died off but was way at the back of the tank and although its in different pieces they've grown huge.

By the way, do you have a link to the filter/waterfall?
Sounds interesting, I may get one.

this is the filter, it came with no instructions and is obviously from china, really pee'd off cause i found the same one on ebay for near enough a fiver less.

but i did get 15% off and free delivery.

I had the same problem when I bought a powerhead off them. Come with loads of extra bits and none of them looked like the bits in the picture.
Trial and error is the only way I think unless someone else who got one can tell you.

Is there not even anything on the box Hanny? My external came with no instructions, but the box had good enough pictures on it that you could make do with them.

Theres a pic of where to put it..

haha well annoyyed surely you should say there is no instructions. if i cant get it done today im sending it back because im not just having a filter chilling in my bedroom. also its a bit too big.

I was wondering what you meant by "waterfall filter" :) Hang on the backs are normally easy to set up: hang it off the back of the fish tank, insert the inlet tubing (this normally sits over the impeller), insert sponges as you like, fill to the top with water, make sure the water level in the tank is high, cover with the lid and plug it in.

yeahi realised after a bit that 'waterfall' might confuse some people :)

haha it took me a ages to do it because there was loads of tubes and bits, it wasnt all packed up together, it took me ages to work out which bit goes where, and then it too kme longer to realise i had to fill it with water first..
DUH!

There is one thing you have to be careful about: if you ever have a powercut, the water will probably syphon out of it and the filter won't start again unless you refill it.

We dont usually have powercuts touch wood!!

I'll remeber though, otherwise ill be like ITS BROKEN MY FILTER HELP ME!

haha thankyou anyway :)

what do you think about the MDF idea?
