Just a quick question requiring an equally quick answer, what is the best way to package corals for transit via the postal service. Any advice would be gratefully received.

Regards

They need to be bagged with sufficient oxygen in the bagthen double bagged, put in an insulated box with something like newspaper or bubble wrap and a heat pack.

I think this is correct as this is how i have received them in the past?

The best packaged corals I ever got were in little plastic pots suspended from the pot lid and contained within a polypox padded out with bubble wrap and heated with a pad :good:

PS I got a Divisia from Rare Ocean packaged like this and I had no problems at all :good:

A great trick for hard coral frags is to rubberband them to small pieces of styrofoam and put in bags like that. Forces the frag to float upsideown in the water and always be submerged :)

Nice one guys thanks for that most appreciated. Hey Mutant it worked out ok with the simple packaging I threw together LOL. Really looking forward to seeing how those little guys adjust to your tank; hopefully they will explode into growth and you will be able to pass on some frags. I must say that I am going to look into boxes next time; delicate frags in the postal service is a precarious situation to be in . Something I don't want to experience again.

All the best and kindest regards
