Hello!
as some of you guys know i have a etsy account and i am selling duckweed but i also have red root floater, water lettuce, succulents, seeds but i have no idea how to pack them and ship them halfway across the country
any suggestions?

how about fragile waterplants?

i could possibly ship you some....
I have no experience personally shipping fragile aquatic plants, but I have ordered some. My anubias and amazon sword came in a small plastic bag, same length or longer than the plant. The end was rubber banded. The plant was in a pot with rock wool and a little tiny bit of water. There was shredded packing paper tucked around them.

Now when I ordered some pennywort (I would consider it fragile, the stems snap super easy) it came gently wrapped in a wet paper towel in a ziplock bag. It came tucked into a small box padded with shredded paper.

I will definitely watch your Etsy listings! I saw your duckweed one. Looks like you've got great prices!

Aquatic plants can be wrapped in wet paper and put in a foam esky that is lined with a plastic bag and the whole lot is sealed up.

Floating plants can be put in a plastic bag with a small amount of water (or no water) and the bag is sealed up and put into a second bag that is sealed up. The bag of plants is put in an esky that is lined with a plastic bag and sealed up.

Maybe ask you local pet shop when they get plants in and pop down there then and watch them unpack the plants. You will be able to see how the plants get shipped to the shop.

Try to avoid send fish or plants when it is really hot or really cold.

I don’t think packages are meant to be jumped on lol. If something that drastic happens in shipping, I think we all have bigger problems on our hands than some squashed water lettuce:lol:

Well ill put a bunch of bug boxes on it
The first time i put some water lettuce in an envelope for another forum user it turned into a spinach smoothie
I now learned to use Bubble Mailers

Oh wow. Do you ship them in envelopes or boxes? I suppose you would need a pretty tiny box!

When I order rare succulents online, they're wrapped individually, out of pot, in newspaper. They're then placed in a box loosely, with packing peanuts tightly packed around them. I've ordered a few times and the nursery always packs them this way. Never had an issue with them and sometimes it takes a few days to reach me.
