4ft length by 1ft width by 1 1/2 height is the tank I've seen on eBay and that looks a decent size as the 6fter will cause way too many problems in the long run.
Especially since I won't be living here permanently or for a long period of time so when I want to move (say I got the 6fter) it really wouldn't be an easy job.
