does anyone know of an inexpensive way to keep an aquarium cool? besides a chiller or ice floating.

u can always try leaving a fan blowing onto the surface of the water.....theres an article in 1 of the tropical fish keeping mags....it says ppl use the fans that are used to cool ur computer down...but i dont see why a normal fan wouldnt work too

Tek :fish:

does anyone know how exactly you would rig up say two computer fans to blow on my aquarium? there is the very large problem with doing this of a 120V (in the US) AC current outlet and the fans run on 12v DC current. I have the same problem as the original person who posted, and i want to get these fans going, but i dont know how to rig it up. Although it would be easy, i dont want to run it on batteries, it would be too expensive to replace them all the time.

an old 12 adapter that you get with walkmans sometimes those are good for fans tho the fns might run fast or blow. just strip the wires back and wrap them together and make shure htye are insulated from each other and you when you put them back together. oh and it might be a good idea to get an rcd encase you electricute yourself messing about.

yeah i wonder why i didnt think of that. i was planning on buying out radio shack to rig something up, but i think i have about 7 different AC adapters im not using. thank u 4 ur help guyz
