How to harden soft water?

I just saw from Aquarium Co-Op that they use equilibrium or Wonder Shells, I’m thinking of trying the shells first.

I doubt this would work for what you need. Aquarists sometimes add shells for shrimp, but that is very different from fish requiring much harder water. Shells are calcium and this alone is not a good buffer, and the buffering aspect is important.
